DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exclusive presentation by Olympic Track Cyclist for Team Canada – CARSON MATTERN!\n\nCarson will be joining us virtually from his training base in Europe to give us a day-by-day recap of his experience at the Paris Olympics\, with personal photos and video. The presentation will be followed up by a live Q&A to learn more about Carson’s current training regime and the upcoming racing season.\n\nSummit Station is proud to financially support Carson and his fundraising efforts. All ticket sales from this event will be donated to CANFUND – an organization that financially supports our Canadian athletes.\n\nLocation: Summit Station Event Room\nLight refreshments will be served\n\n“Hi\, I’m Carson Mattern – Olympic track cyclist for Team Canada –\nSomething you might be surprised to learn is that most Canadian athletes have to pay thousands of dollars out of their own pockets in order to compete in their own sport\, even at the Olympic level. This is in addition to general living expenses\, such as housing\, transportation and other expenses not covered by our national sport’s associations. I mean\, just try to imagine what a 5000 calorie-a-day diet looks like on a grocery bill…\nSince training to represent Canada at the Olympics is already a full time job\, the CANFund provides a lifeline for us. Throughout the tour try and spot our mascot\, the real-life ‘Valentina the Heart Cow’! \nThis is a walking tour lasting about 75 minutes. \nPlease dress for the weather (cold\, wet\, etc.) as most of the tour is outside. You will be provided boot/shoe covers that must be worn throughout the tour. \nThe tour is suitable for strollers\, walkers and wheelchairs\, but please be aware there are uneven surfaces. While we love our pets\, the cows sometimes get nervous around them – so unfortunately dogs are not allowed. \nSummitholm is an active working farm. For your safety\, as well as the safety of our staff and animals\, visitors are not allowed to wander the barns unaccompanied. DESCRIPTION:Stop in at the Station on Saturday September 28 as we celebrate one of the best collaborations in history: Milk & Cookies! \nJoining us for our inaugural festival will be David Levy and his team from Hamilton’s own CHOCOLATE TALES. \nSign up for a Chocolate Tales Cookie Decorating Class in our Event Room or enjoy a “tasting flight” of our milks matched with a selection of cookies on the pavilion! \nThere will be music and face painting in the pavilion from 1-3pm\, plus an extra farm tour at 2:30pm! \nFor decorating classes and farm tours\, please reserve your spot in the separate events pages. \nA fun\, delicious day for the whole family! \n
