Our Home Delivery Service
Where do you deliver?
Summit Station Dairy offers our home delivery service exclusively to residents in the City of Hamilton. We will be adding neighbourhood routes over the coming months – so if we don’t deliver to your corner of the city right now… we will soon! Please check back often or follow our Facebook page for updates. Curious to know if your neighbourhood is on our route? Click here to find out.
What if I live in a Condo/Apartment?
We don’t usually deliver to condo/apartment buildings, but we may be able to work something out if you can leave a cooler in your lobby or packages room. Please email us at [email protected] to discuss.
What is the cost of home delivery?
Home delivery is available as an annual membership only. The cost is $250+HST which covers 52 weeks (a full year) of delivery right to your door. There is no minimum weekly order. As one of our home delivery members, you will have first dibs on our creamery products (butter!) and you can come out for a free tour of the farm (up to 6 people).
Our Milk
Do you sell to restaurants or retail locations?
Yes! Email [email protected] to start a conversation.
Can I get bulk orders of milk?
We have 10 Litre bags that can be filled with our pasteurized, unhomogenized, whole milk. We can fill as many of those bags as you need. To pick up in store, you will need to pre-order at least 48 hours in advance by emailing [email protected] or by calling (289) 505-0800.
Advance payment is required by credit card or e-transfer. Looking for a LOT of milk? Send us an email and let’s chat.
Can I have my own bottles or containers filled with your milk?
To ensure the safety and quality control of our products, we will only sell milk in our own Summit Station containers.
Do you sell raw milk?
‘Raw’ milk is unpasteurized milk. As a licensed plant, we are required by law to pasteurize all the milk we sell (73 degrees for 16 seconds). So, the answer to the question is no.
However, we do sell unhomogenized milk! Our unhomogenized whole milk is around 4% butterfat, and the cream ‘rises to the top’. Safe, full of nutrients, and perfect for your own kitchen processing!
The Government of Ontario website has a great info page on pasteurized milk in Ontario.
Is your milk A2? (or — what the heck is A2 milk?)
Yes – all the milk available through Summit Station comes from our own A2A2 cows.
A2 Milk comes from cows that naturally carry two copies of the A2 protein (version of beta-casein), rather than the more common cows that carry both A1 and A2 proteins.
While the research is still on-going, some studies have shown that people who have difficulty digesting regular milk that contains both an A1 beta-casein and an A2 beta-casein (but had not been diagnosed with lactose intolerance or a dairy protein allergy) were able to digest A2-A2 milk without the usual discomfort.
Our Glass Bottles
Are the glass bottles dishwasher safe?
Yes!
What should I do with my empty milk bottles?
Well, let’s work together to re-use them.
There is a $2.00 deposit fee on all our glass bottles, regardless of size. You can return your empty bottles for refund at our store or to our stall when we’re at farmers markets or fairs.
Our home delivery members simply need to leave empty bottles at their doorstep and our drivers will pick them up. Members will be able to track how many bottles they’ve received and how many have been returned through our website login. Refund credits will be applied to the next month’s invoice.
A BIG PRETTY PLEASE AND THANK YOU – Return your bottles to us clean. That means a hot, soapy water rinse or run them through in the dishwasher. Plastic caps should be removed. Broken or ‘uncleanable’ bottles will not be eligible for a deposit refund.
Another idea for using your empty milk bottles…they make great vases!
